Introduction

Starting a new job can feel daunting, especially if you've never done anything like it before. So we're taking the guesswork out of it. Here's what really happens in your first week at North, from the moment you walk through the door.

Day one isn't about being thrown in at the deep end. It's about getting to know the team, understanding how we work and learning the basics. You'll spend time in foundations training, covering the brands we represent, how to have great conversations and how to carry yourself with confidence. From there, you won't be left to figure things out alone. You'll be paired with a mentor - someone who's been exactly where you are - and you'll learn alongside them. Watching, listening and asking questions is part of the process, and nobody expects you to know it all straight away. As the week goes on, you'll start putting what you've learned into practice, with your mentor right there with you. You'll get feedback after every day, so you know what's going well and what to work on next. Small improvements each day add up quickly. By the end of your first week, most people are surprised by how much they've picked up. The nerves usually fade fast, because everyone around you wants you to do well - and they'll show you how. Your first week is just the start. Coaching doesn't stop after induction. It carries on every day, for as long as you're with us.
